Service stage and responsibilities
The brief names board mix, component count and whether setup is a complete PCB assembly line or a replacement station that must handshake with existing printers or ovens. Manufacturers quote the sequence they can actually integrate. Throughput is acceptable assembled boards under an agreed schedule, not a brochure CPH tied only to one head type. PLC interface names are required if SMEMA, barcode or MES signals must leave the cell. Tooling such as extra feeders, nozzles and stencils belongs on the same sheet as the base machines.
Ask which of tooling, installation, freight to the US destination, training, commissioning, FAT witness travel and spare parts sit outside the machine price. Reflow exhaust, nitrogen if specified, barcode readers and software seats are often extra. No numerical saving versus “the market” is published; comparison is the set of replies to this brief. Changeover labour for two distinct jobs is a quoted demonstration, not an implied free service. Cooling water is listed only if an oven or chiller is in scope.
Factories should answer with the same units: board millimetres, placement CPH as a check item with test conditions, compressed air MPa, three-phase supply V/Hz, connected load kW, work envelope and footprint. Ask how changeovers and traceability will be shown on two actual jobs. If a manufacturer cannot relate printer, mounter, inspection and reflow interfaces to one transfer owner, that gap stays open rather than being replaced by a catalog photo.
